Welcome to your OAS Air Pro charging guide. We want to make sure your chair is always powered up and ready for your next adventure.
When your wheelchair is fully charged, the joystick display will show 5 Bars. Below, you will find the two convenient ways to charge your battery, along with some simple troubleshooting steps.
โก Two Ways to Charge Your Battery
You can choose whichever method fits your daily routine best.
โ ๏ธ Most Important Step: Whichever method you choose, the power switch on the battery itself must be turned ON ("I" position) before you begin. The battery will not charge properly if its switch is turned off.
Method 1: Charging with the battery removed (Off-chair)
If it is more convenient to leave your wheelchair in one place and charge the battery elsewhere:
Turn off the joystick power.
Unlock the battery latch and gently slide the battery out of the frame.
Make sure the battery's individual power switch is flipped ON ("I" position).
Plug your charger into a working wall outlet, then connect it directly to the charging port on the battery itself.
Method 2: Charging with the battery installed (On-chair)
If you prefer to keep everything together:
Turn the joystick power OFF.
Ensure the battery is securely locked in the frame, and its power switch is flipped ON ("I" position).
Plug your charger into a working wall outlet, then connect it to the charging port located directly under the joystick/controller.
๐ฆ Understanding the Charger Lights & Timing
๐ด Red / Orange light: Your battery is currently charging beautifully.
๐ข Green light: The battery is fully charged and ready to go (or, the battery power switch is not turned ON).
Note: Your very first charge will take about 6โ8 hours. For daily use, simply leave it plugged in until the indicator light turns solid green.
๐ ๏ธ Quick Troubleshooting: What to check if it's not charging
If you plug your charger in and the light doesn't change, or if the chair isn't receiving power, please do not worry. It is usually a very simple fix. Please take a quick moment to double-check these four items:
The Battery Switch: Is the switch on the battery itself flipped completely to ON ("I" position)? (Since this switch is small, it can occasionally be easily overlooked!)
The Battery Alignment: If charging on the chair, please ensure the battery is pushed firmly into the frame and securely latched so the metal connectors meet properly.
The Connection: Ensure the charger cable is pushed firmly all the way into the charging port.
The Wall Outlet: Try plugging the charger into a different wall socket, just to rule out any issue with the outlet itself.
