This guide explains how to troubleshoot E3 and E5 error codes on the OAS Air Pro wheelchair.
These errors are usually related to the brake cables, motor connections, or drive mode levers.
⚠️ Error Meaning
- E3 → Left brake cable detached or left brake system issue
- E5 → Right brake cable detached or right brake system issue
🔧 Important Pre-Check (Very Common Cause)
Before troubleshooting, please ensure:
- Both red motor release levers are fully pushed into “D / Drive mode”
- If either lever is not fully engaged in Drive mode, the wheelchair may display an E3 or E5 error
✔ Both sides must be correctly set to electric mode (Drive / D) for normal operation
🛠️ Step 1: Check Brake Cables & Drive Mode
Please verify the following:
- Left and right brake cables are securely connected
- Nothing is loose or disconnected
- Both rear wheel levers are fully set to “D / Drive mode”
- Gently move the levers to ensure they are fully engaged
Then:
- Turn the wheelchair back on
- Check if the error still appears
🔌 Step 2: Check Motor Cable Connections
If the issue continues:
- Turn off the wheelchair
- Locate the two rear motor cables connected to the controller
- Disconnect both cables
- Swap the connections:
- Left motor cable → right port
- Right motor cable → left port
- Reconnect firmly, making sure the arrows are aligned correctly
🔄 Step 3: Restart and Test
- Turn the wheelchair back on
- Check if the error code is still displayed
📸 If the error persists, please take a photo or short video of the error code and send it to us for further assistance.
🧠 Key Summary
- E3 = left brake system issue
- E5 = right brake system issue
- Both red levers must be fully in Drive mode
- Incorrect lever position can trigger errors
- Check brake cables first, then motor cable connections
- Restart after each step
⚠️ Important Safety Note
- Always turn off the wheelchair before checking cables
- Ensure all connectors are firmly inserted
- Handle all components gently to avoid damage
